West Hartford Superintendent Announces Graduation, Last Day of School

West Hartford Public Schools has announced the graduation date for the Class of 2018.

By Ronni Newton

West Hartford’s Conard and Hall high schools will both hold commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2017 on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Superintendent of Schools Tom Moore said Wednesday night.

Since the weather looks clear until April 1, the date that graduation is usually announced to ensure that all snow days are taken into consideration, Moore said he is comfortable making the announcement now.

Moore also confirmed Wednesday that the last day of school for all students other than graduating seniors will be Wednesday, June 20.

The original last day of school was to have been June 11, but there have been seven snow days during the 2017-18 academic year.

High school students will be receiving a finals schedule shortly. All regularly scheduled finals will end by Tuesday, June 19, and Wednesday, June 20 will be the make-up day.

More specific information that graduates and their families will need to know about commencement will be forthcoming later this spring directly from the high school administration.
