The Town of West Hartford will be hosting its first Public Safety Fair Day on Saturday, Nov. 13, proving a chance for the public to meet representatives from various public safety agencies, receive services, and obtain valuable information about various disciplines all in one place.

The West Hartford Fire Department, West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, West Hartford’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Office of Emergency Management are jointly sponsoring the event, which will take place at the Elmwood Community Center from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.

A no-appointment flu shot clinic will be held, with vaccines available to anyone age 4 or older. Please bring your insurance card.

Expired fire extinguishers will be collected for proper disposal, prescription disposal bags will be distributed, and information will be shared about emergency preparedness.

In addition, the Public Safety Fair will include a “hands-only” CPR demonstration.

“I really want to thank all of the departments that have been involved in setting [the Public Safety Fair] up,” said Town Manager Matt Hart at the most recent Town Council meeting.
