Open rehearsals for the West Hartford Women’s Chorale begin on Sept. 15.

The West Hartford Women’s Chorale invites prospective members to attend open rehearsals on Sept. 15 and 22, with no audition or obligation to join. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. at Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Road, Newington.

“Winter Joy” is the theme for this semester’s diverse program, which represents many cultures and musical styles alongside traditional holiday favorites such as Brahms’s “Ave Maria” and “Sleigh Ride.” The semester’s major work is two movements from “Winter Hymns” by composer Shara Nova.

Founded on the belief that all women should have the opportunity to sing, the Chorale offers a welcoming, non-audition setting in which members can learn and perform choral music.
