West Hartford Youth Football – Week 10 Game Summaries

Scores and highlights of West Hartford Youth Football games played Nov. 5-6, 2016.

The West Hartford Youth Football League (WHYFL) kicked off their Week 10 quarterfinal playoff matchups this weekend with games at Conard High School in West Hartford, Farmington High School, and at Southington Recreation Park. The weekend included a full slate of games at the Mighty Mite (7, 8 and 9 year olds), Pee Wee (10 and 11 year olds), and Pony (12, 13, and 14 year olds) divisions.

Pony/A Level

#2 seed Brewer Paving Eagles 49, #7 Southington Chargers 0 – The #2 seed Brewer Paving Eagles won their seventh straight game with a 49-0 victory over the Southington Chargers in the quarterfinal round of the Pony / A Division playoffs Sunday afternoon at Conard High School. The Brewer Paving Eagles (7-2) advance to the semi-finals where they will face the #4 seed Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders (5-4) Sunday morning at Conard High School. The Southington Chargers finish their 2017 season 0-9.

#4 seed Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders 47, #5 seed Farmington Black 12 – The Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders leveraged a solid ground and passing attack to defeat Farmington Black 47-12 Sunday night at Conard High School. Namar Gaynor, Richie Aponte, Rowan Sierra, and John Calcaterra each scored for the Raiders. Emmett Coco also threw touchdown passes for the Raiders. The Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders also received a strong showing from Will Tousignant, Kevin Kirklin, Will Gaumer, Ethan Tiffany, Izzy Henriquez, Nathaniel Cavo, Christian Maldonado, Tolu Adetola, and solid blocking from Walker Beverly, Eziah Henriques, Scott LaBranch, Rowan Sierra, and Tommy LaSpada. The Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders (5-4) advance to the semi-final round and will face the #2 seed Brewer Paving Eagles (7-2) Sunday morning at Conard High School. Farmington Black finishes their 2017 season 3-5.

#6 seed Park Tavern Chargers 37, #3 seed Southington Patriots 12 – The Park Tavern Chargers pulled out a quarterfinal upset victory with a 37-12 road win vs. the Southington Patriots Saturday evening at Southington Recreation Park. The Park Tavern Chargers (3-5) advance to the semi-finals where they will face #1 seed Farmington Blue (7-1) Sunday at Farmington High School. The Southington Patriots finish the 2016 season with a 5-4 record.

Pony Level Playoff Schedule – Semi-finals

#1 seed Farmington Blue vs. #6 seed Park Tavern Chargers, Sun, 11/13 12:00 p.m. at Farmington High School.

#2 seed Brewer Paving Eagles vs. #4 seed Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders, Sun 11/13, 10:00 a.m. at Conard High School

 

Pee Wee/B Level

#2 seed Farmington Blue 39, #7 seed Farmington Maroon 0 – Farmington Blue won their third straight game with a 39-0 victory over Farmington Maroon in the quarterfinal round of the Pee Wee / B Division playoffs Sunday afternoon at Farmington High School. The #2 seed Farmington Blue (6-2) advance to the semi-finals where they will face the #3 seed Macca Plumbing Giants (6-3) Sunday morning at Farmington High School. Farmington Maroon finishes their 2017 season 0-9.

#3 Macca Plumbing Giants 33, #6 Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots 0 – The Macca Plumbing Giants opened the 2017 Pee Wee / B Division playoffs with a 33-0 victory over the Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots Sunday morning at Conard High School. The #3 seed Macca Plumbing Giants (6-3) will advance to the semi-finals where they will face the #2 seed Farmington Blue (6-2) Sunday morning at Farmington High School. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots finish their 2017 season 1-7.

#4 seed Southington Steelers 21, #5 West Hartford Health & Rehab Colts 6 – The Southington Steelers opened the 2017 Pee Wee / B Division playoffs with a 21-6 victory over the West Hartford Health & Rehab Colts Sunday afternoon at Southington Recreation Park. The #4 seed Southington Steelers (6-3) advance to the semi-finals vs. #1 seed Southington Panthers (7-1) Saturday at Southington Recreation Park. The West Hartford Health & Rehab Colts finish their 2017 season 4-5.

Pee Wee Level Playoff Schedule – Semi-finals

#1 seed Southington Panthers vs. #4 seed Southington Steelers, Sat 11/12 at Southington Recreation Park.

#2 Farmington Blue vs. #3 Macca Plumbing Giants, Sunday, 11/13, 10 a.m. at Farmington High School.

 

MIGHTY MITE/C Level

#2 seed Southington Dolphins 40, #7 Watts Group Steelers 0 – The Southington Dolphins won their quarterfinal playoff game 40-0 over the Watts Group Steelers Saturday afternoon at Southington Recreation Park. The #2 seed Southington Dolphins (6-3) advance to the semi-finals vs. the #3 seed Southington Lions (6-3) Saturday at Southington Recreation Park. The Watts Group Steelers finish their 2017 season 1-7.

#3 seed Southington Lions 50, #6 seed Bishop Photo Browns 12 – The Southington Lions won their quarterfinal playoff game 50-12 over the Bishop Photo Browns in the opening round of the Mighty Mite / C Division Playoffs Saturday afternoon at Southington Recreation Park. The #3 seed Southington Lions (6-3) advance to the semi-finals vs. the #2 seed Southington Dolphins (6-3) Saturday at Southington Recreation Park. The Bishop Photo Browns finish their 2017 season 2-7.

#4 seed Fishman Orthodontics Cowboys 32, #5 Farmington Black 20 – The Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys avenged a regular season loss with a 32-20 victory over Farmington Black in the opening round of the Mighty Mite / C Division Playoffs Sunday afternoon at Conard High School. The #4 seed Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys (5-4) advance to the semi-finals vs. #1 seed Beachland Tavern Jets (7-1) Sunday afternoon at Conard High School. Farmington Black finishes their 2017 season 3-5.
