With Session Over, Here Are Some Bills That Didn’t Make It Through the Legislature this Year

The ‘Golden Girls’ housing bill and a ‘bell-to-bell’ cellphone ban were two of the measures that didn’t come to a final vote.

A day after the 2026 legislative session ended, state officials were still sorting through the dozens of bills that passed the General Assembly. Gov. Ned Lamont praised the legislature for a job well done.
But as is the case in any session, the number of bills that passed the legislature is dwarfed by those that don’t. Some bills fail to even earn a spot on a committee agenda, some fail to advance out of committee and some may pass the House or Senate, then die in the other chamber.
