The West Hartford Women’s Chorale will celebrate their 20th anniversary Winter Concert on Dec. 15.

This December, the West Hartford Women’s Chorale will celebrate 20 years of singing with their Winter Concert, Glorious. Voices.

Founded in 2004, the WHWC began with a few determined women and a music director who wanted formed a non-audition choir where any woman could sing and perform beautiful choral music.

On Friday, Dec. 15, the Chorale, now 80 singers strong, will perform the beautiful and complex, Missa Mariae by contemporary female composer, Cecilia McDowall. The concert will also include a variety of seasonal music, Hebrew music and familiar holiday pieces with some surprising musical arrangements.

The concert takes place on Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1018  Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Tickets are $15 at the door.
