Update, Friday, Oct. 26

After many days of being glued to the weather reports, Moms & More Club of West Hartford has made the decision to cancel this year’s Halloween Stroll, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27.  There is no rain date. Please help spread the word.

Original Story

Calling all ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes, and other costumed characters!

Children of all ages are invited to spend a fun morning at the annual Moms & More Club of West Hartford’s Halloween Stroll, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square.

There will be a wide variety of activities for kids, as well as adults, to enjoy. Chick-fil-A is sponsoring a performance of the kid-friendly band Sunny Trail at Webster Walk in Blue Back Square, and along with 102.9 The Whale radio station will also be raising funds for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Local sports mascots will be strolling the streets and posing for photos, there will be face painting, a Zamboni for climbing aboard, and crafts, games, prizes, and food galore.

Candy will be in plentiful supply as well, courtesy of generous merchants throughout town. Radio Station 96.5 TI FM will be on site in Blue Back Square with a car trunk full of treats and giveaways.

New this year is a dedicated allergy-friendly area, located in the Little Pumpkins Lot off Raymond Road (former REI parking lot). Vendors will hand out non-candy giveaways so that children with food allergies can still participate in the fun and not feel left out. Fun for All Foods, a West Hartford-based company and producer of Top 8 Allergen Free Foods, is sponsoring this area. West Hartford resident and author Colleen Brunetti will be signing copies of her children’s book, “Aidan the WonderKid Who Could Not Be Stopped: A Food Allergy Story.”

The Little Pumpkins Lot, which will be fully-secured, will also feature hands-on activities for children ages 0-3.

All festivities are free, and activities will be organized in “stations” on LaSalle Road, Farmington Avenue, South Main Street, Memorial Road, and Isham Road. Participants can begin whenever and wherever they like.

Be sure to allow plenty of time to locate a parking space as this popular event traditionally draws thousands. Parking is available at Town Hall, in the garages on Isham and Memorial roads, and in the Town Center building on South Main Street, as well as in the municipal lots on Brace Road and LaSalle Road. Parking fees apply.

The Halloween Stroll is produced in collaboration with the Town of West Hartford, the West Hartford Center Business Association, Blue Back Square, West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, and sponsors Chick-fil-A of West Hartford and Fun for All Foods.
