Brazilian World Cup Soccer Stars Coming to University of Hartford in West Hartford

Hartford Athletic, the city’s new professional soccer team, will host several Brazilian National Soccer Team stars on Friday at the University of Hartford in West Hartford.

Hartford Athletic, Connecticut’s new professional soccer team competing in the United Soccer League in 2019, has partnered with Champions Experience and the University of Hartford to host Brazilian National Team Stars Douglas Costa, Thaisa Moreno, and Monica Hickmann.

Costa comes to Hartford after starring in the 2018 FIFA World Cup this summer for Brazil. Professionally, Costa competes for Juventus in Italy’s top division – one of the most storied clubs in the world.

The players will host a clinic, meet and greet, and will participate in an exhibition match with youth from Hartford as well as youth soccer organizations from throughout the state.

This visit to the Hartford area by the Brazilian stars is a rare opportunity to meet and train with world-class professional soccer players up close. Hartford Athletic is committed to supporting and promoting the world’s game in Hartford and providing unique experiences for our fans and community. The event will be held on Friday, July 27, beginning at 4 p.m. at the University of Hartford Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT. The clinic will run from 4-6:30 p.m., the meet and greet will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the exhibition match will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Hartford Athletic will also have exclusive merchandise available for purchase on-site for those in attendance.
