Jewish Hartford Women, a grassroots organization established in response to the attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, will host a vigil this Saturday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m. outside of Young Israel of West Hartford.

This event aims to raise awareness and show continued support for the 133 hostages still being held by Hamas.

The vigil, symbolizing a collective act of reflection and solidarity, is open to the entire community. It will be held outdoors.

Young Israel of West Hartford is located at 2240 Albany Ave., West Hartford.

Security personnel will be present to ensure the safety of attendees.

Parking is available on adjacent side streets – Seneca Road and Mohegan Drive.

The vigil is particularly significant as it marks over 100 days since Hamas terrorists attacked Israeli cities, resulting in the tragic loss of over 1,200 lives and the kidnapping of more than 240 hostages, including men, women, children, infants, and the elderly. Since then, more than 133 hostage remain captive in Gaza under the most deplorable conditions possible and under constant threat of murder by Hamas terrorists.

JewisHartford Women invites the community to join in solidarity, standing together to remember the victims and advocate for the release of those still held in captivity. The event will feature a Havdallah ceremony, a reading of the names and moments of reflection.
