Christmas and New Year’s Trash Delays and Other Schedule Changes in West Hartford

Trash and recycling will be delayed by one day for residents in all collection areas, and Town Hall and other Town of West Hartford facilities have adjusted hours due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The Town of West Hartford wishes you and your family a Happy Holiday season!

Due to the holiday, there are a few changes in hours of operation.

The collection of trash and recyclable items will be delayed one day following the Christmas holiday on Monday, Dec. 25. Monday’s area will be collected on Tuesday and so forth for the remaining days of the week. Please check the website www.painesinc.com or call Paine’s, Inc. at 860-844-3000 with any questions.

Starting Dec. 23, 2017, the Yard Waste and Recycling Center will be closed on Saturdays. Saturday hours will resume on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

All town facilities, libraries, schools, and the Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1.

The following facilities will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 24: Elmwood Community Center, Elmwood Senior Center and West Hartford Senior Center (Bishops Corner), and all three libraries.

The Skating Rink will be open for public skating on Dec. 24, Dec. 31, and Jan. 1 with the following sessions:

Sunday, Dec. 24, 1-2:30 p.m., 2:40-4:10 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 31, 1:40-3:30 p.m., 3:40-5:10 p.m., 5:20-6:30 p.m., 6:40-8 p.m. (DJ Skate)
Monday, Jan. 1: 11:40 a.m.-12:50 p.m., 1-2:10 p.m., 2:20-3:30 p.m., 3:40-4:50 p.m., and 5-6:20 p.m.

West Hartford Public Schools will have its holiday break from Dec. 25-Jan. 1. Students will return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
