The state Department of Education has received a five-year, $10 million grant to expand targeted reading intervention for students experiencing reading difficulties in kindergarten through third grade.

The Education Innovation and Research grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Education, will support a statewide initiative led by the CSDE’s Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success in continued partnership with the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education, HILL for Literacy, Fordham University, and Connecticut school districts, officials said.
