CT to Offer Free, Reduced Bus & Train Fares for America 250 Celebrations

West Hartford does not have its own celebration on July 4th, but those attending the extravaganza in Hartford have can take public transportation at no cost.

Connecticut will offer free and reduced-price transit fares and expanded service in recognition of the upcoming Independence Day holiday and America’s 250th birthday celebrations, Gov. Ned Lamont announced Friday.

DOT will offer fare-free service on all CTtransit bus routes statewide on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, according to a news release from the governor.

“This includes CTfastrak service and ADA paratransit service in CTtransit service areas,” according to the release.
