Democrats in the Connecticut General Assembly are doubling down on worker protections in their 2025 legislative priorities, renewing efforts to pass measures that faced obstacles in previous legislative sessions.

At the forefront of their agenda is Senate Bill 8, which seeks to safeguard warehouse employees and to extend unemployment benefits to striking workers, building on the contentious “striker’s aid bill” vetoed by Gov. Ned Lamont last year.
