Family Resource Center Accepting Registrations for Circle of Security Parenting Program

The West Hartford-based Bridge Family Center, which operates the Family Resource Center, hosts the program which supports parents and other caregivers.

The Family Resource (FRC), operated by the Bridge Family Center, is now accepting registrations for the 2021 Circle of Security Parenting Program, an 8-week, research-based program that supports and strengthens a parent or caregiver’s ability to understand and respond to a child’s emotional needs.

“We are pleased to once again offer this program to parents, grandparents, and caregivers in the community. Through video examples, handouts and reflective dialogue, participants will explore their parenting experiences in a safe environment while building skills to encourage healthy growth and development in their children,” explained Deborah Zipkin, Director of the FRC.

Classes will meet on Thursdays from April 22 through June 10. Program times will be either 1-2:30 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m., depending on participants’ interest.

Parents and caregivers of children of all ages invited, program is limited to 8 participants. Fee is $40 and partial scholarships are available.

The Bridge Family Resource Center (FRC) offers an integrated system of family support services that enhance parenting, promote family involvement with the schools, and help children succeed academically, socially and emotionally. The FRC makes its home at the Charter Oak International Academy but also offers selected programs at other elementary schools in West Hartford.
