An event at Rockledge Golf Club in West Hartford was fun for the golfers, and also served as a fundraiser for the West Hartford Food Pantry.

Members of the Rockledge Men’s and Women’s Clubs played in a unique event on Nov. 4 at Rockledge Golf Club to benefit the West Hartford Food Pantry.

Enitled “Greenskeepers Revenge,” the course maintenance staff placed obstacles on each hole along with other tricks and treats making it difficult for the golfers to play each hole. It was all for fun in appreciation of the staff’s hard work keeping Rockledge one of the best maintained golf courses in our state.

Members and the general public donated carloads of non-perishable food items during the week leading up to the event, along with donations totaling $1,410 that were presented to the Town That Cares/West Hartford Food Pantry.

The Men’s Club has raised more than $4,000 and donated hundreds of non-perishables over the last few years.
