The Hall girls volleyball team won three of their last four games, including a thrilling four-set victory at Windsor (26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 27-25) on Oct. 21, to qualify for the CIAC Class LL tournament for the second year in a row under under Coach Elena Pevar – a former Hall volleyball player and 2015 graduate who took over leadership of the program last year.
Hall finished with a record of 8-10 in the regular season, playing a difficult schedule which included four teams ranked in the top 10 in Connecticut.
The Titans have been anchored by the defensive presence in the back row of senior Libero Brigid Bernoski and the front line blocking of Middle Hitters Pamba Haikali (senior) as well as Anna Siciliano and Sydney Todd (both juniors). The offensive attack has been led by Outside Hitters Maggie Rose (senior), Rebekah Walters (senior), and Alexa Faga (junior) at Right Side Hitter.
Setting the table for the Titans’ hitters have been Setters Allison Chung (senior) and Margaret Kinney (sophomore). Key contributions off the bench have come from Sydney Burke (senior Outside Hitter) and defensive specialists Eliza Bean (sophomore), Alyssa Ferreira (junior), and Cassidy Greene (junior), who played well in the decisive final set in the victory over Windsor.
Although official pairings won’t come out until Nov. 4, it appears the Titans will travel to play Amity-Woodbridge (16-3) in the first round of the playoffs.
