On Tuesday, July 27, Home Care Assistance is hosting an ice cream social for the community.

The ice cream social is in honor of the Longest Day, a day on which thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

This FUNdraiser will be held outdoors at the West Hartford Senior Center, located at 15 Starkel Rd., from 4-5:30 p.m.

Ice cream will be available in either cups or cones, with toppings included all, for just $7 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter. If you are unable to make it on the day of the event, you can still donate here.

Home Care Assistance (HCA) is a national home care agency with a local office in West Hartford.  HCA offers concierge-level services and care management to each client, achieving this by attracting the most innovative, creative, compassionate, and committed employees.

“We are pleased to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association – Connecticut Chapter and proud to host this ice cream social as a fun way to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s disease and raise money for the Connecticut State Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association,” organizers said.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for care, support, and research.  Alzheimer’s is the nation’s sixth leading cause of death.  The walk is held annually, and more than 600 communities participate across the country.
