A Wethersfield man involved in a rollover accident on South Main Street in West Hartford Thursday sustained only a very minor injury, but a utility pole was severed and had to be replaced by Eversource Energy, West Hartford Police said.

According to police, Alejandra Manuel Baeza-Visalden, 22, of Nott Street in Wethersfield, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the rollover accident. Baeza-Visalden had just pulled out of the parking lot at Rockledge Golf Course and was driving south on South Main Street when the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m., police said.

West Hartford Police Capt. Jeff Rose said that Baeza-Visalden claimed that a northbound vehicle swerved across the double yellow line into his lane, but a witness to the incident said that there was no northbound car.

Rose said that “there was no evidence of cellphone use” contributing to the accident according to the police investigation.

The impact severed a utility pole on South Main Street – the same utility pole that was hit in a rollover accident in March.

Eversource Energy replaced the pole Thursday evening. Power was out for several hours only to the two residences that were hooked up to the pole, other than for a short time when Eversource cut power during the replacement and changeover process, police said.

South Main Street remained closed for several hours.

Baeza-Visalden received a cut lip as a result of the accident, and was transported to Hartford Hospital for evaluation and later released, police said.

He was charged with failure to drive right and traveling too fast for the conditions.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
