To the Editor,

In the August primary, I urge my fellow West Hartford Democrats to vote John Larson to continue as our Congressman.

I have not always agreed with or voted for John in the past, but I know he has good values, is smart, and works hard.

In this primary, he has earned my vote for reelection. Larson has been an outstanding, responsive leader for our town and congressional district.

John Larson gets things done. He can fight vociferously and effectively on matters of principle, but as important to me, John can compromise when it is necessary to get things done for our town, state, and country. They say there are only two messages in politics – stay the course and it’s time for a change.

For our town and congressional district, the other candidates in my opinion have not made a substantive case for the change. I know our current national political climate has made Democrats angry and anxious, but let’s be smart. Newness doesn’t always translate to being better. Passion doesn’t always translate to accomplishments. John Larson has proven his worth to our party and our district. He merits another term as our Congressman.
