To the Editor:
Being a new mom is challenging. No matter how much you prepare, it is almost impossible not to feel overwhelmed. They say it takes a village – and they are right. It also takes bold legislators who prioritize policies to support children and families. This election, I hope you will join me in voting for Kate Farrar as State Representative for the 20th District of Connecticut.
I have had the privilege of knowing Rep. Farrar since her time as Executive Director of the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund, where she successfully led the passage of paid family medical leave. This historic legislation gave Connecticut families the security to welcome a new child without worrying about lost income while away from work. From the beginning, making life easier for working families has been one of her top priorities.
Since her first election in 2020, I have watched Rep. Farrar develop and grow as a legislator who leads with compassion and purpose. Now in her third term, she serves as Deputy Majority Leader and Chair of the Early Childhood Education Endowment Advisory Board. Once again, Rep. Farrar played a crucial role in passing another monumental law and established the Early Childhood Education Endowment. This fund not only lowers childcare costs but also supports educators and improves childcare facilities. This comprehensive approach to tackling the childcare crisis in our state will transform lives. In recognition of her efforts, Kate recently received the Children’s Champion Award.
When I go to the ballot box, I will vote for the person who will stand up for a brighter future for my son and the children of Connecticut. I know with full confidence that Kate Farrar will continue to work every day to bring our neighbors together and deliver for the 20th District. Please join me in reelecting Kate Farrar.
