To the Editor:
A state representative’s work should make a difference at your kitchen table. That’s why I’m supporting Kate Farrar’s reelection as State Representative for the 20th District.
As a West Hartford Town Councilor, I see how decisions at the Capitol affect our schools, neighborhoods, and household budgets. I value a partner at the Capitol who follows through and puts our residents first.
Kate does the work. She brings the courage to act, the humility to listen, and the grit to deliver.
Kate has helped secure:
- $3.2 million in additional education and municipal aid to support essential services and stabilize property taxes.
- $2 million for new housing options in Elmwood, helping address a basic need that affects families, employers, and our region’s ability to thrive.
- $1 million for Vision Zero roadway safety projects, investing in safer streets for everyone who walks, bikes, or drives.
- Support for The Bridge Family Center, West Hartford PRIDE, and a connection between Trout Brook Trail and the East Coast Greenway through Hartford.
When families face uncertainty, we need leaders who can meet today’s needs while building tomorrow’s opportunities.
Kate’s leadership on early childhood education helps give children a strong start, supports parents’ ability to work, and strengthens the foundation for Connecticut’s future workforce and economy.
Kate supported Connecticut’s Federal Cuts Response Fund, which was created to help protect residents from federal funding cuts and policy changes. By supporting food assistance, refugee services, and home heating assistance, the fund helps keep food on the table, homes warm, and families stable – so our neighbors can build secure lives, age with dignity, and retire with security.
Kate has proven she is no timid soul. She’s in the arena, fighting with enthusiasm and devotion for causes that matter to our community. And I’m proud to stand with her.
Join me in supporting Kate Farrar for the 20th District.
Lisa P. Lazarus
West Hartford Town Councilor
