Dear West Hartford Friends and Neighbors,

I write to ask you to join me in voting to re-electing Liam Sweeney and the entire Democratic team to the Town Council this November.

Liam and his Democratic colleagues have shown leadership during tough times. They responded to the Covid-19 pandemic in just the ways we would hope – focusing especially on our most vulnerable residents, our children and seniors, as well as our families. While other communities reached frightening levels of transmission, West Hartford stayed relatively safe thanks to timely policies relating to social distancing, masking, and timely vaccinations for people on the front lines – teachers and first responders.

Liam has also stood out as an advocate for maintaining support for investments in our young people and education. He has been a longtime supporter of the Bridge, which provides help and support to so many of our teens. And he is advocating for the purchase of St. Brigid’s School, a far-sighted plan that will allow our town to develop a facility that serves the needs of children and our most vulnerable. The increased offerings of youth services and recreational programming at the former St. Brigid’s School will be good for the immediate area and for our whole town.

There is nothing more important to the future of our community than the health, safety and well being of our children and our most vulnerable residents. When they thrive, our town’s future is bright. Liam Sweeney has been a great, effective advocate for our youth and our most vulnerable, as well as for the rest of us. I hope you’ll join me in supporting him on Election Day.

Sincerely,

Andy Fleischmann
West Hartford
