To the Editor:

I’m proud to call West Hartford home because of the people who make up this community. Our town is composed of so many kind, passionate, and fiercely dedicated residents. Olaleye Onikuyide is one of them, bringing the principled, people-first leadership the 19th District deserves.

As a proud product of West Hartford Public Schools, Onikuyide has called this town home for almost 30 years. Whether he’s talking with a lifelong resident or a new neighbor, Onikuyide makes every person feel like they matter, because he knows they do. He recognizes that every critique, suggestion, or opinion reflects an individual who cares deeply about our community’s future.

That’s the kind of leader Olaleye will be at the Capitol, advocating for policies that work for everyone.

This means making our state more affordable, investing in our infrastructure, and ensuring there’s housing within reach for all individuals, whether they’re renting, buying their first house, or looking to downsize. Olaleye understands that these priorities make a tangible difference for seniors who want to stay in the homes they love and give younger residents like me the opportunity to build our lives here.

Character and integrity matter when electing a state representative, which is why I’m proud to support Olaleye Onikuyide– a candidate who will lead with compassion, empathy, and intention. He’s ready to build on the progress Representative Exum has made and will carry the values that keep West Hartford moving forward.

I hope all residents in the 19th District will cast their vote for Olaleye Onikuyide on or before November 3rd.

Sincerely,
Megan Wallett
Vice Chair, West Hartford DTC
