Dear Editor,

Our democracy has never been more fragile than it is right now. That’s why we need a Secretary of the State who is ready for the job on day one. Stephanie Thomas has the experience, vision, and values to be a fantastic Secretary of the State. We know she will be a strong advocate for protecting voting rights, expanding access to voting, and keeping our elections secure.

Our voting laws will undergo significant change in the next few years, and it is vital that the next Secretary of the State understands the legislative process and how to get laws passed. As her colleagues in the Connecticut House of Representatives, we have observed Stephanie’s hard work as the Vice-Chair of the Government Administration and Elections Committee.

The Secretary of the State’s office also works with businesses large and small across the state. Recently, Stephanie took part in a business tour of several West Hartford businesses on New Britain Avenue. As a small business owner herself, Stephanie knows and understands what it takes to grow and maintain a successful enterprise.

Elections are about choices, and for us, the choice is clear. So, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, we encourage our fellow West Hartford Democrats to join us and vote for Stephanie Thomas on Row A.
