To the Editor:

Early voting starts October 19th, and I’m proud to support Tiffani McGinnis for State Representative for the 18th district. If you live in the 18th district – that is, if you typically vote at KP, Bristow, or Town Hall – I encourage you to vote for Tiffani as well.

Tiffani and I have served on the West Hartford Town Council together for the past three years. She is smart, always prepared, asks good questions, and works for the best interests of our residents. I am confident that she will bring the same skillset and work ethic to the State Capitol.

Tiffani’s life experiences have shaped her approach to public service. Tiffani grew up in Tennessee and was the first in her family to attend college. She saw firsthand how education can expand opportunities and how public policy can help improve people’s lives. She also saw the need for change in certain areas. She became an advocate both locally and nationally for stronger laws protecting people from guns and domestic violence, then expanded her focus to include issues like affordability, education, and protecting people’s rights.

After spending two decades helping others get elected, Tiffani was appointed to the Town Council in 2023 and elected in 2025. She is present, proactive, and responsive – and she seeks practical solutions to improve our town. Tiffani is committed to ensuring that West Hartford remains a safe and beautiful place to live for people of all ages, with excellent public schools and opportunities for all.

One of the reasons Tiffani decided to run for State Representative is to work at the state level to allow towns like West Hartford to reduce their reliance on the property tax – to reduce the burden on our own residents and find revenue from other sources. Tiffani also will be a force at the Capitol for actions that address the rising costs of health care, housing, and electricity. And she will ensure that West Hartford receives its fair share from the state budget.

On her website, Tiffani says it best – “My priorities are rooted in a simple belief: government should lift people up, expand opportunity, and make life better for the people it serves.”

I’ve seen firsthand the dedication, thoughtfulness, and commitment Tiffani brings to public service. I am confident she will be an effective advocate for West Hartford at the State Capitol. Please join me in voting for Tiffani McGinnis for State Representative in the 18th District.
