Dear Editor and West Hartford Town Planning and Zoning,

I am writing in to voice my support for a business owner who is trying to better his business and bring a little summer fun to the area.

Effie’s Place is a great family restaurant and we enjoy taking our children there and many times with their friends. Having outdoor entertainment there every once in a while reminds us to get outside and help support local business owners.

Effie’s is open only until 9 and the music is a welcome treat and can’t see that it is an issue as this is a reasonable time frame to have activity outside. In general I have sat outside at Effie’s and as we all know Park Road is not a quiet street and this cannot possibly add to the noise level of the cars and general activity that already exist there.

It is nice to have a more family friendly option to outdoor dining and having entertainment is very nice. If anyone has gone to some of the places in The Center after 8 they are not very quiet places.

We enjoy the fact that it is out of The Center as sometimes it gets a bit crowded and if you are in a rush with a family this is a great alternative. As a community we need to support ideas like this to help our small businesses thrive it is what keeps West Hartford what it is now, a place that small businesses want to come and be a part of our town.

Please approve the Special Permit #1204-R1-15 soon,  so we can enjoy the music for the summer.

Sincerely,

Sharon and Charlie Bruce

West Hartford
