Dear Editor,
As a 7-year resident, community volunteer, and now part-time employee, of the Town, I continue to be amazed at the myriad of West Hartford resources. I recently had the privilege of participating in the 2ndAnnual Behind the Badge – Citizen’s Police Academy. I was intrigued and excited by the different classes each week, and I learned so much.
The Town of West Hartford has a truly awesome Police Department. The Citizen’s Police Academy program was extremely informative, well organized, fun, and demonstrated the strong working relationships that the police department has with the community. It was clear that each officer is a passionate and dedicated expert in their field(s). I am grateful every day to the officers of the West Hartford Police Department for their commitment to this profession and the West Hartford community.
After having completed this truly outstanding 8-week course, I am definitely a more aware and informed resident. I hope the Police Department will continue to offer this opportunity to the community, and I encourage residents and business owners to participate.
