Dear We-Ha Editors –

Rick Bush, longtime resident, business owner and community volunteer is now a candidate for the West Hartford Town Council.  Thank goodness!

I’ve known Rick for many years as a friend and community supporter demonstrating his leadership as a Board of Director on the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) as an advocate supporting capital improvement projects for our flood impacted neighborhoods. Likewise, Rick’s passionate interest in responsible environmental practices for West Hartford is demonstrated with his contributions as a member on both Conservation Environment and Sustainable West Hartford Commissions.

As a residential property owner and Board Member of the Connecticut Coalition of Property Owners, Rick has been compassionate for the rights of both property owners and tenants ensuring there is reasonableness with land use requirements and the basic rights of residents.

At his core, Rick is pragmatic, decent and a moderate to center conservative who believes our tax dollars need to be allocated to services most important to preserving, protecting and providing growth for our community. This includes educating our children, protecting our families and growing our local economy.

On Nov. 7,  please vote for Rick Bush because West Hartford needs him.
