Playhouse on Park is in the homestretch of Season Nine, and only one Mainstage Show remains: In The Heights! Tickets for this musical are already going fast, with previews and opening night nearly sold out! Opening night for In The Heights is June 15; the complimentary wine and cheese reception is at 7 p.m., and curtain is set for 8 p.m.

With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, In The Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

In The Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.

Playhouse co-artistic directors and co-founders Sean Harris and Darlene Zoller return to direct and choreograph In The Heights. Melanie Guerin serves as Musical Director for the nearly 10-piece band.

A Young Professionals Night Out has been planned in conjunction with this production. For $20, young professionals (ages 21-35) can enjoy a pre-show reception, hosted by Playhouse’s Young Professional Advisory Board, as well as take in the show!.
