The Metropolitan District (MDC) announced that the parking lot at the West Hartford Reservoirs recreation area on Farmington Avenue will open to full capacity beginning Monday, March 15. A portion of the lot has been closed since last year to limit parking as part of the effort to safely manage staff and facility operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

MDC requests that the public using the reservoir please park only in designated parking lots. As a reminder, per the Connecticut Department of Public Health, anyone using public watershed recreational areas in Connecticut, must maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more when walking, hiking, jogging, or biking.

MDC thanks everyone for their cooperation, which helped ensure the safety of the public and our employees, and allowed us to keep our recreation areas open throughout the pandemic.
