MLB Player Visits West Hartford School
Houston Astros outfielder George Springer visited Renbrook school in West Hartford on Wednesday.

MLB player, George Springer, Houston Astros outfielder, was at Renbrook School to speak to upper school students about about dedication, hard work, teamwork and what it takes to make dreams come true.
Springer was a Renbrook School Summer Adventure camper and his ties with Renbrook run deep.
Springer attended New Britain High school and AOF was drafted in the 48th round of the 2008 MLB draft, but chose to defer to go to UConn where he was named the Big East Conference rookie of the year and First Team All-American.
He was drafted again in 2011 as the 11th overall selection in the first round.
In 2013, Springer joined the 30–30 club, recording more than 30 home runs and stolen bases. He made his MLB debut on April 16, 2014, and has been featured on the cover of “Sports Illustrated.”
