Police said the operator of a motorcycle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a collision with a passenger vehicle Sunday in the area of 2900 Albany Avenue (Route 44).

No injuries were reported to the driver or any occupants of the car involved in the collision, police said.

According to Capt. Peter Juda, the incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday. As of 11:15 p.m., the roadway remained closed to traffic in both directions between Mountain Road in West Hartford and the Avon town line while the investigation by the West Hartford Police Department’s Traffic Division continued. He said the closure could last several more hours and drivers were encouraged to take alternate routes.

The West Hartford Fire Department, Avon Police Department, and State of Connecticut Department of Transportation also provided assistance at the scene and with the investigation, Juda said.
