West Hartford Police said the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital following the crash.

West Hartford Police are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday morning involving a pedestrian who was injured after being struck by a motor vehicle.

According to Capt. Aaron Vafiades, police as well as crews from the West Hartford Fire Department and AMR, responded to the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Kane Street at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday following a report of the incident.

Vafiades said upon arrival, crews determined that a man had been crossing Kane Street when struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Vafiades said.

No injuries were reported to the vehicle operator, who was also an adult male. He remained on the scene and was cooperative in the investigation, police said.

The intersection of Kane Street and Oakwood Avenue was closed while the West Hartford Police Department’s Traffic Division processed the scene, Vafiades said.

“The West Hartford Police Department would like to thank the West Hartford Fire Department and AMR for their efforts on scene,” Vafiades said.
