Person Shot at West Hartford Police Firearms Range

West Hartford Police are investigating an incident that occurred Monday afternoon at the department’s indoor shooting range.

One person was injured as the result of a gunshot wound sustained at the West Hartford Police Department’s indoor firearms range Monday afternoon, Lt. Daniel Moffo said.

According to Moffo, the incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. at the indoor range on Brixton Street.

The injured party was not a West Hartford Police Department employee, Moffo said, but information about who the victim is and why the person was at the firearms range was not provided.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, said Moffo.

Police are investigating the incident, and said further information was not currently available.
