PK Studios is holding a pet portrait event at Woof Gang Bakery in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square, with proceeds from session fees as well as profits from the purchase of a specialized item going to help offset the thousands of dollars in veterinary expenses for a pair of West Hartford dogs recovering from traumatic experiences.

Food for Fido is a pet portrait event benefiting our West Hartford furry friends Rollo and Charlotte, True Survivors, whose owner has already incurred almost $20,000 in medical bills for the dogs’ recovery from separate but related traumatic events.

Details about the dogs’ harrowing experiences can be found here

Capture your loyal canine (or feline) companion(s) with a modern and expressive pet portrait from two of Hartford area’s premier pet photographers, Patty Swanson and Kay Bagwell, all while helping Rollo and Charlotte defray their mounting medical bills.

This is the fourth semi-annual “Food for Fido” event that PK Studios – Pet Photographers and Print Artists (Patty Swanson Photography of West Hartford and Kay Bagwell Photography of Killingworth) will host, and this time they hope to raise more than $500, and in addition are collecting bags of dog food for Pack Leaders Rescue of CT, a local rescue of both dogs and cats. Cheryl Lutz Davidson, Rollo’s and Charlotte’s mom, feels forever blessed with the outpouring of the community’s support and wants to pay it forward by helping others dogs.

“People’s pets are members of the family. Let’s celebrate their spirit, personality, and love they unconditionally share with us with a pet portrait session. And in turn your beloved pet will give back to all his/her furry friends who do not yet have a loving and safe environment,” said Swanson and Bagwell. This Food for Fido event will allow pet owners to do just that, while supporting our very own furry community members.

The pet portrait sessions will be held at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, 62 Isham Rd., West Hartford, on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. To register and reserve your session, visit https://pswanson1.photobiz.com/form/food-for-fido-sessions-041818 for additional details.

Pet owners will receive a 15-minute photography session per pet with the opportunity to purchase from special custom-designed collections starting at $195, with other photographic accessories and jewelry offered a la carte. A signature product (TBA) will also be offered, for which 100 percent of the profit will go toward Rollo’s and Charlotte’s medical bills. All paid session fees will also be donated: $35 for one dog, $60 for two dogs from the same household, and $75 for three dogs from the same household. Advanced reservations are required.

Swanson and Bagwell are both award-winning photographers. They specialize in creating expressive and modern artwork for Connecticut’s most exceptional pets and horses.
