The Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office, known as RSCO, connects families with free public school options across the region, including magnet schools, the Open Choice Program and Hartford-area technical high schools. More than 20,000 students currently attend choice schools across Greater Hartford, according to RSCO.
The event is for families to learn about the upwards of 40 magnet schools RSCO offers ranging from prekindergarten to grade 12. The magnet schools offer specialized themes such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics, performing arts and dual-language instruction and are all taught alongside core curriculum.
West Hartford participates in the Open Choice Program, which allows eligible students to apply to attend schools outside their home district. West Hartford students may also have access to regional school choice options, depending on available seats and grade levels.
RSCO connects families across Greater Hartford with free public schools outside their home districts, including schools offering specialized instruction and academic programs.
More information about West Hartford’s Open Choice Program is available on the West Hartford Public Schools website. Families can find details about the fair, participating schools and the application process on RSCO’s website. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register.
