Runner Struck by Vehicle in West Hartford on Sunday

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while running on Fern Street Sunday morning.

The West Hartford Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate an incident that took place Sunday morning involving a female who was struct by a motor vehicle while running.

According to Capt. Eric Rocheleau, an adult female was jogging on Fern Street near North Main Street when she was struck by a car. The incident was reported at 10:38 a.m.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The woman sustained injuries, which were determined to be non-life-threatening, and she was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment, Rocheleau said.

The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened, police said.
