Academic excellence is very important to the Saint Brigid School (SBS) community. On Thursday, March 6, the Executive Faculty Council of Saint Brigid School proudly congratulated the 2015 National Junior Honor Society inductees for their exemplary academic achievements and unparalleled commitment to community service.

In a spirit-filled awards ceremony, students, family, and friends proudly sat in the audience and witnessed as the award recipients were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.

National Junior Honor Society chapter advisor and SBS faculty member Melissa Seidl, in conjunction with Principal Shevon Hickey, led the awards presentation. A total of ten students received the coveted National Junior Honor Society distinction.

Representing eighth-grade the recipients were: Dylan Errico, Shirley Love, Yael Santiago and-Kiana Woods. In seventh-grade the recipients were: Joshua Grajales, Dominick Mealha, Janealle Miller, Nathan Rinaldi; and Joshua Brown in sixth-grade. Foreign exchange student Haewan “Charlotte” Ku was also acknowledged as a Honorary National Junior Honor Society member.

“It was no easy task for the Executive Faculty Council to identify those students who have earned the renowned honor of National Junior Honor Society member. Many of our students have worked hard all year long. Although they are not members this year, I’m confident they’re committed to work even harder next year; so they can become our 2016 National Junior Honor Society members,” stated Principal Shevon Hickey.

Saint Brigid School is proud to celebrate over 54 years of strong academics, Catholic values and enriched cultural diversity. SBS is a full-time faith based educational program committed to educating the needs of students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. St. Brigid is located at 100 Mayflower Street in West Hartford, Connecticut.
