Seniors Job Bank Elects New Officers

The Seniors Job Bank, which is headquartered at West Hartford Town Hall but serves the Greater Hartford area, has elected a new slate of officers.

The Seniors Job Bank, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping older adults remain active, engaged, and financially secure through meaningful employment, announced new officers. The leadership team brings a diverse range of professional experience and a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for mature workers across the Greater Hartford region.

The officers are:

  • Jeffrey Ferketic, of West Hartford was elected Co-President
  • Yvonne Matthews, of Bloomfield was elected Co-President
  • Meg McCrudden, of West Hartford was elected Vice President
  • George Konefal, of West Hartford was elected Treasurer
  • Lauren Milardo, of Middlefield was elected Secretary

Together, with the other volunteer members of the Board, this leadership team will guide the Seniors Job Bank as it strengthens its mission and broadens its impact at a time when many older adults are seeking to re-enter or remain in the workforce.

Meeting A Growing Need

The Seniors Job Bank connects adults age 50 and older with part-time, full-time, volunteer, and project-based employment opportunities with homeowners, municipalities and businesses that value their skills, institutional knowledge, and experience. Established over 50 years ago and serving 36 cities and towns in Greater Hartford, the organization works closely with local employers: businesses, homeowners, and municipalities and community partners to address workforce needs while empowering older adults to maintain independence, purpose, and financial stability.

“Our leadership team reflects the depth of experience and dedication needed to meet the evolving needs of mature workers and employers alike,” said Co-President Jeffrey Ferketic. “We are committed to expanding access to meaningful work and helping individuals navigate the changing employment landscape with confidence.”

Co-President Yvonne Matthews added, “Older adults bring tremendous value to the workforce. Our role is to ensure they have the tools, connections, and support necessary to continue contributing in ways that are both fulfilling and impactful.”

As part of its continued growth, the Seniors Job Bank is advancing its Next Chapter Success learning initiative, designed to equip older adults with the skills and strategies needed to thrive in today’s job market.

“Next Chapter Success is about helping individuals write the next phase of their professional story,” said Vice President Meg McCrudden. “Whether someone is returning to work after retirement or exploring a new path, we’re here to support that journey.”

Treasurer George Konefal noted, “There is a clear economic and social benefit to keeping experienced individuals engaged in the workforce. Our programs are designed to create value for both job seekers and employers.”

Secretary Lauren Milardo added, “We are proud to serve as a trusted resource in the Greater Hartford community and look forward to expanding our reach and partnerships.”
