Thomas Guzzo, a resident of West Hartford, found a great way to mark his 60th birthday this month: by bringing holiday joy to others.
The fact that those others were residents of Saint Mary Home – a skilled nursing facility in West Hartford, and that Guzzo was disguised as the Easter Bunny – made the occasion sweeter still.
Guzzo, his girlfriend, Kathy, and festively-dressed dog, Cash, made Easter Sunday special for many residents and staff members at Saint Mary Home with “window visits.”
An announcement was made Sunday by the Saint Mary Home’s main reception desk, alerting colleagues that it was time to encourage residents to look out their windows for a special surprise. During a time of understandably strict visitor restrictions and social distancing, the Therapeutic Recreation team, who made the arrangements with Guzzo, wanted to bring joy to the seniors entrusted to their care.
