West Hartford Public Schools will present its third annual Sparks Fly! on April 23, 2026, at the Town Hall Auditorium – an evening that brings together live music, visual art, and a student marketplace in one dynamic, student-led event.
Sparks Fly! is the only opportunity to experience live, public performances by Conard and Hall High School guitar students. This unique evening also features an exhibition of original artwork by visual arts students along with a student marketplace where attendees can also purchase student-created pieces, including pottery, jewelry, baked goods, and other handcrafted items.

In recognition of Earth Week, all donations from the evening will benefit student-nominated non-profit, The Nature Conservancy. The funds raised will contribute to their ongoing efforts to protect and restore vital ecosystems in Connecticut.
Doors open at 5 p.m., with performances and exhibits running through 7:30 p.m. The event also features a community raffle with generously donated prizes from local businesses and restaurants. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT.
Created by Music Educator, Alfredo Grado and Visual Arts Educator and Visual Arts Supervisor, Pam Murphy, the event serves as a platform for students to share their work beyond the classroom, connecting directly with the community through performance, exhibition, and sales. Sparks Fly! offers a rare chance to experience and support the creativity, initiative, and entrepreneurial spirit of West Hartford’s young artists.
