St. James’s Episcopal Church, located on Farmington Avenue on the western edge of West Hartford Center, will once again be participating in the town’s annual Holiday Stroll.
“We are going to do the Nativity Walk again this year because the children enjoyed it so much last year,” said Director of Family Ministries, Priscilla Hooper. “Everyone enjoyed acting out the different scenes, changing them a little each time,” she added.
This year, as a part of the West Hartford Holiday Stroll, St. James’s will offer a four-scene nativity walk, telling the original Christmas story. The story begins with the Old-Testament reading from Isaiah and concludes with the Luke version of the birth of Jesus.
The walk will be done in small groups with each group having their own tour guide who will tell the story.
“Each scene is short, the whole walk takes less than 20 minutes,” said Hooper
“Come and experience the birth of Jesus and see all your friends as well,” she added.
The Holiday Stroll will take place on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. The Nativity Walk will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m. that evening. St. James’s Episcopal Church is at 1018 Farmington Avenue, just past the intersection of Walden Street and Farmington Avenue.
In the event of rain, the Nativity Walk will be moved indoors at the church. The Holiday Stroll will take place regardless of the weather.
If you have any questions about the Nativity Walk, please feel free to contact Priscilla Hooper, Director of Family Ministries, at [email protected].
