Hall used a big second inning and strong pitching to defeat Farmington, 8-1, on Friday afternoon, hosting the River Hawks in the first round of the CCC Tournament.

After both teams were held scoreless in the first inning, Hall broke through in the bottom of the second with four runs to take control of the game early. The Titans continued to add on throughout the afternoon while their pitching staff kept Farmington’s offense quiet.

Hall’s offense came alive in the second inning with timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. The Titans strung together several quality at-bats, including a 2-RBI double from James Alerte and Max Hanawalt, putting pressure on the defense and capitalizing on scoring opportunities to build a 4-0 lead. The inning gave Hall momentum that it never gave back.

The Titans added two more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 6-0. Farmington answered with its lone run in the top of the fourth after putting together one of its few offensive rallies of the game, but Hall quickly responded by adding two more runs in the inning to maintain a comfortable advantage with an RBI single from Joshua Gertner and a sacrifice fly from Matthew Panarella.

Hall scored its final run in the sixth inning to close out the 8-1 victory with another sacrifice fly from Panarella.

The Titans finished with 12 hits and received offensive contributions throughout the lineup. Hall consistently put runners on base and stayed aggressive offensively, forcing Farmington pitchers to work through traffic for much of the game. Multiple players delivered key hits during Hall’s scoring innings as the team continued to apply pressure from start to finish.

On the mound, Hall received a strong outing from starting pitcher Kaiyo Sharkey, who worked six innings while allowing just one run on four hits. He struck out four batters and consistently kept Farmington hitters off balance by getting ahead in counts and forcing weak contact.

Hall’s defense also played a major role in the victory. The Titans made several clean plays in the field and avoided costly mistakes, helping keep Farmington from generating momentum offensively. Whenever Farmington threatened, Hall responded with timely outs to maintain control of the game.

Farmington settled down after the difficult second inning and managed to limit additional damage for stretches of the game, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Hall’s balanced offense and steady pitching prevented the visitors from mounting any significant comeback.

The victory adds another strong performance to Hall’s season as the Titans continue to build momentum heading toward the final stretch of the schedule. With contributions throughout the lineup, reliable pitching, and solid defense, Hall put together a complete team effort in the win over Farmington.

Farmington battled throughout the afternoon despite the loss and showed flashes offensively in the middle innings. Still, Hall’s four-run second inning and consistent play on both sides of the ball ultimately made the difference in the 8-1 result.

The Titans now advance to the semifinals of the CCC tournament, where they will face off against East Catholic on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Muzzy Field.
