The Center Days Are Here! July 10-12

West Hartford’s familiar streets are about to be jumping with tent sales, free music and entertainment, food samples at the information booth (at Silkworm on Thursday, Kaoud on Friday, BK&co. on Saturday), and of course plenty to eat! The annual West Hartford Center Sale Days are upon us –  this Thursday, Friday and Saturday – and pay attention because some stores will continue to have sales beyond Saturday.

Traditionally, shoppers will find fashions, gifts, items for the home, and accessories – discounted and still in season. This year’s event will include plenty of special offers like “sidewalk madness” at BK&co., which is also continuing the celebration of its special milestone 20th birthday this year.

“Time flies when you are having a blast dressing fabulous women,” commented Barbara Karsky, the “B” in BK&co. Barbara, and her other half Karen Herbert, have been lifelong friends and their store offers contemporary daywear, professional, and special occasion dressing for women of all ages.

If you are looking for music, you’ll want to stop by to hear singer/songwriter Travis Busch, a recent Conard High graduate, who will be at Silkworm Boutique on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. and in front of Kaoud Oriental Rugs on Friday at lunchtime.

“Every Box Has a Story” is Lux Bond & Green’s trademark, and if you’ve ever received one of their signature gold boxes, you know this already. If you are hunting for classic prep “summery” brands such as Vera Bradley or Vineyard Vines, look no further than The Silver Dahlia, at 970 Farmington Ave.
