The sidewalks of West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square and the front lawn of West Hartford Town Hall were packed with thousands of costumed characters Saturday morning for the annual Moms & More Halloween Stroll – returning this year after being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On a picture-perfect morning, pint-sized ghosts and goblins, pumpkins and skeletons, super heroes, ghouls, and animated characters strolled through West Hartford collecting candy from generous merchants that set up stations on the sidewalk. There were also plenty of parents and quite a few dogs decked out. Other dogs, rescues available for adoption through Dog Star, were also at the Halloween Stroll.
“It was great to see so many families out and about, and smiling,” said Robyn Rifkin, general manager of Blue Back Square. West Hartford lifted its indoor mask mandate as of Friday, and Rifkin said she thought that may have helped people feel even more comfortable attending an outdoor event such as he Halloween Stroll.
