Declan R. Kiley is a senior at Northwest Catholic High School and will be attending Saint Anselm College in the Fall. Declan’s project for his Eagle rank was planning, constructing and installing benches at the Green House of The Catholic Worker in Hartford.

The house is home to after school and weekend programs for children of the neighborhood.

Thanks to Declan’s project, they now have benches on their front porch and in a craft and game room.

Branden A. Kaufmann, age 13, is currently an eighth grade student at King Philip Middle School and will be attending Hall High School in the fall. For his Eagle Scout project, Branden designed and built 32 garden sign holders for the community gardens at the Noah Webster MicroSociety Magnet School in Hartford, CT.

The sign holders are weatherproof boxes with Plexiglas fronts that stay in the gardens year round so the students can display information or artwork in them.

Andrew P. Kahn completed his Eagle Scout project for Elizabeth Park. He and his team installed posts alongside a stretch of road to prevent parking on the grass, thus protecting the soil from erosion. They also constructed a picnic table to be used on the park grounds.

Andrew will be graduating from Hall School in June and attending the University of Connecticut in the fall.
