The athletic fields will be hopping at West Hartford’s Hall High School on Friday, April 19 – with the Hall vs. Conard varsity baseball game, two softball games, and two tennis matches – and on the track, 700 runners from 60 different schools across New England will be competing in the 6th annual CT Distance Festival.

The action will begin at 4 p.m. with first heat of the mile, for unseeded runners. Heats will take place in the order of slowest to fastest, and will roll right into each other so they may end up starting early – but not more than 10 minutes early, said Jeff Billing, who is co-director of the meet along with Chris Stonier.

The public is invited to attend this exciting event, which should feature some of the top runners in the state and region, including multiple competitors from West Hartford’s Hall and Conard high schools.

Following introductions of the athlete, the girls championship mile is scheduled to begin at 7:37 p.m., and the Tom Butterfield Boys Championship Mile has a posted start-time of 7:47 p.m.

The Girls Championship 5K is scheduled for 7:58 p.m., with the Robert Michalski Boys Championship 5K beginning at 8:24 p.m.
