The Toy Chest, which has been in West Hartford Center since 1956, will hold a birthday celebration on Saturday, Nov. 12 that will include a visit and book reading by Curious George.

One of West Hartford’s oldest businesses, but one that serves many of the town’s youngest customers, will be celebrating its 60th birthday on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, with an event that includes face painting, balloon making, story times, crafts, toy demonstrations, raffles, give-aways , and 10 percent off off all purchases.
Curious George will be attending the celebration event, which will run from from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and will include the following activities:
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Face Painting
10:30 – 11:30 a.m. – Crafts & Coloring for Ages 2-4
noon – 1 p.m. – Owner of FLICKERZ Demo their toy
noon – 1 p.m. – Curious George Book Reading & Visit
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Crafts for Kids Age 5+
2 – 4 p.m. – Balloon Making
3 – 4 p.m. – Curious George Book Reading & Visit
There will also be giveaways and much more, and any purchase (subject to manufacturer restrictions) will be 10 percent off.
Toy Chest is located at 975 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford Center.
