For the sixth year in a row, 100% of the students in the University of Saint Joseph Physician Assistant Studies program have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE).

Board certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for graduates of PA programs in order to obtain initial licensure in the United States to practice medicine as a PA. The USJ program has maintained its 100% pass rate record since its first PA graduating class in 2019.

Graduates of USJ’s 28-month PA program have consistently ranked above the national pass rate average, with each graduating class earning a 100% first-time pass rate.

“The 100% pass rate for our 40 graduating students demonstrates their commitment to excellence and dedication to healthcare,” said Tricia Marriott, PA-C, MPAS, MJ Health Law, CHC, DFAAPA, director and chair chair of the PA Studies Program, School of Pharmacy and PA Studies. “These students will join USJ graduates from the past six years in providing exceptional care as they pursue the practice of medicine in the workforce. We are equally appreciative of USJ’s faculty and staff who provide unwavering support for our students’ success.”

Earlier this summer the University of Saint Joseph PA Studies Team won first place at the annual Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates (ConnAPA) State Medical Challenge Bowl held at Quinnipiac University. This was USJ’s first time winning the statewide Medical Challenge Bowl.
