A virtual tour of the Tudor home in West Hartford that served as the Junior League of Hartford’s designer show house is now available as a virtual experience.

While the opportunity to tour the Junior League of Hartford’s 2022 Designer Show House in person ended on June 26, for the first time ever the show house can be viewed through a virtual format.
Through a partnership between the Junior League of Hartford and media partner CTC&G (Connecticut Cottages & Gardens), the 23 decorative spaces of the home at 51 Brookside Boulevard in West Hartford can now be visit virtually, at any time through June 30, 2023.
“We are beyond excited to extend our media partnership with CTC&G, and to be able to offer guests a virtual tour of the Show House, allowing for an even more inclusive experience for everyone,” said Whitney Sweeney, Show House co-chair in a news release. “This year’s house was incredible and we want to make it even more accessible to guests who may not live within the area or who may not have been able to see it in person. It also opens the house to a much wider audience – including people with restricted mobility and those who may not have been comfortable seeing it in person amid these COVID times. Now guests can experience our beautiful showhouse beyond its three-week run and from the comfort of their own home.”

The 4,000 square foot Tudor, built in 1938 and situated on a more than a half-acre of wooded land that backs up to a brook on a peaceful tree-lined street, was the tableau to showcase the work of 16 talented designers throughout the month of June. Among the spaces highlighted in the designer show house were five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a grand entry with open stairway, a back staircase, and a partially-finished basement with wet bar and screened porch.
Marsha and Jared Jacobskind and their family, who own the property and temporarily relocated, generously donated the use of their home to the Junior League of Hartford as a way to give back to the community and to honor the history of their home.
The 3D data platform Matterport was used to create an interactive tour through the use of 360-degree photography, which can be viewed on a computer or mobile device. “Each room in the tour includes a link to the designer’s website where guests can learn more about each designer and view their project portfolios. In addition to the show house tour, each guest will receive a beautiful digital flipbook of the Showhouse Journal, which every visitor receives with their ticket,” according to the Junior League of Hartford.
Tickets are $10 each (non-refundable and non-transferable) and can be purchased through Eventbrite under “2022 Virtual Tour – Junior League of Hartford Show House,” and can also be accessed through the CTC&G website at CottagesGardens.com/Events.
Proceeds from the virtual tour will benefit the Junior League of Hartford and its work to provide leadership opportunities for women, while supporting multiple charitable programs and projects throughout Greater Hartford. Since the inception of the designer show house fundraiser – typically held every three years – the Junior League of Hartford has raised more than $1.6 million.
